CNS Summer Event:
Sunday 24 June 1-4pm
CAN YOU HELP?
Car boot
pitches are filling up fast; Dr Bike and Pedal Revolution are working on our
bike challenge; the driving school cars are raring to go to give all those big
enough to reach the pedals a chance to drive a real car around the CNS
field. Students have come up with a
variety of ideas for stalls and activities to run alongside the car boot. Full
event details can be found on the flyers that CNS students will be bringing
home as well as in the latest e-Echo and on the school website.
So can you
help out with the few remaining tasks that need doing? We are looking for:
- Books for
the book stall
- Plants for
the plant stall
- Cakes,
biscuits and any other refreshments
All of the
above can be delivered to school either before or during the event.
We also need
some more helpers to come in on the afternoon of Saturday 23rd to help sort out
the gazebos and bunting; plus some extra hands to help out on the day.
If you can
help with any of the above please contact Alison on 01603 250135 or at alisoncoyle@btinternet.com, or leave a message at the school office.
If you are
unable to help with the preparation please do come along on the day to have
some fun with members of the school association and local community. All
proceeds from the day will go towards more picnic tables and chairs for our
students.
Message from Mr Nixon
This week we had the year 6 into 7 Parents’
Evening and my thanks to all those who attended and a very special welcome to
those reading the E-echo for the first time.
Starting something new often carries with it a mixture of emotions
including excitement and concern and that is natural.
The start is important whether it be a
piece of music, the first page of a book or the open minutes of a sporting
event. Those who get a “good start” have
often put in a great deal of preparation beforehand making sure they are well
equipped and in the right frame of mind.
They may even have visualised what may happen in the opening minutes and
how they would deal with possible events.
Those who succeed often give themselves lots of “starts” by breaking
down an event into different sections and not looking too far ahead. In the weeks to come, Wimbledon players will
be trying to win one point at a time rather than thinking a set ahead. That way the task is manageable and all the
effort is put into the here and now. To
achieve a long term goal you have to work hard in the short term.
