City College Awards
The annual awards ceremony for Year 11 students attending vocational courses at City College Norwich took place on Wednesday evening at St Peter Mancroft Church.  It was really pleasing to see several CNS students proudly collecting their certificates and particular congratulations go to Shannon Bell who received the ‘Outstanding Achievement Award for Health & Social Care’.

CNS Car Boot and Bike Auction: Sunday 24 June 1-4pm

Does your loft or garage need a late spring clean?  Do your teenagers rooms need some more space?  Then why not book a pitch for the CNS car boot sale?  The perfect opportunity to have a clear out and make a little money too!  A good project for half term and you will be supporting the school association, CNSA, in its fundraising for more picnic tables and chairs.
Car boot pitches are £5.00 each and must be booked in advance.  To register for a pitch please email your contact details to Alison Coyle at alisoncoyle@btinternet.com  or to office@cns-school.org.   You can also leave a message for Alison’s attention at the School Office.
We will be running a second hand bike auction for which bikes must be registered as above.  There will also be a bike repair service on site and the local Police will be offering security marking.
We would like to have a plant stall, so if your garden is a little overcrowded and you would like to donate seedlings or young plants please start potting up!
A full list of events will be available after half term but please contact Alison or the School Office if you have any queries.

Message from Mr Nixon

Recently I have been given cards from individual students who are leaving CNS (sixth form and year eleven).  I was really surprised to receive them and each one contained a message from the student(s) to me.  The cards are on the windowsill in my office so I can see them when I am working; they mean a huge amount to me.

It is amazing how something as simple as a card can be so important and also become so precious on a personal level.  They made my day because of the thought that went into them, the effort they took and most importantly because of the words they contained.  I also believe that the cards highlight how brilliant and appreciative our students are, how CNS is about relationships with individual people and how a few carefully chosen words can inspire us regardless of our age or responsibilities.  They also made me reflect both personally and professionally.  In short they have had a significant impact on me.

I wrote a personal reply to each student saying thank you and telling how their cards meant so much to me and what a privilege it was to know them.  It is all too easy to underestimate the influence and impact of a few words.
