CNSA Car Boot and Bike Sale/Auction: Sunday 24 June 2012
Thank you to all those who have contributed ideas for our summer event on Sunday 24 June (1.00 -4.00pm).  The most popular choice is  the car boot and second hand bike sale/auction so please start sorting out your cupboards, lofts, garages and sheds!
Car boot pitches are £5.00 each and must be booked in advance.  To register for a pitch please email your contact details to Alison Coyle at alisoncoyle@btinternet.com  or to office@cns-school.org.   You can also leave a message for Alison’s attention at the School Office.
We know that many of you have bikes that you would like to sell and we would like to do this via an auction, if we can find an auctioneer!  So if you have an interest in bikes and would like to have a go at auctioneering; or if you know someone who would be happy to help us out please contact Alison as soon as possible.
By popular request, we will have the driving school cars returning to the school field, and students are currently working on other event and stall ideas.    Further information on all of this, and more in next week’s e-Echo!

English Department and Sports Department
This week the English Department and the Sports Department ran a competition for a place in the torch relay carrying the olympic flame.  Entrants had to write a headline and a hundred words in the style of a sports report.

The winning entry came from Kathryn Shailer in year 7.  Her report about the Chinese female gymnast team was judged the best as it most carefully followed the conventions of sports report, was news worthy and also very well presented.

Kathryn will be taking part in the relay in Felixstowe on the 5 July at around 5pm.

Message from Mr Nixon

The school seems very strange with sixth form not around and year 11 students leaving todayVisitors to the school often comment about the “buzz” that they feel around the school, the atmosphere of young people working hard and interacting with each other and adults.  Oscar Wilde said “some cause happiness wherever they go; others whenever they go”.  I am pleased to say that our students are in the first part of the quote, we will miss them all and wish them the very best in their exams and their future careers.

If you re-read the quote above you may be like me and immediately think of some individuals you have encountered during your life who fit either category.  Some of the most positive and inspirational people I have encountered were those facing significant difficulties and problems. Sometimes it is not about the problems and challenges we face as human beings, as we all encounter them; it is about how we respond to the challenge.
