A SUMMER EVENT AT CNS

Ideas are currently being sought within school for activities that the school association, CNSA, could organise during the summer term and for ways to spend funds raised.
We have the school field and the Arc at our disposal on Sunday 24 June for a community event and would really appreciate your feedback as to what would bring you in to school that day:
-  Does the opportunity for young people to drive a car (with qualified driving instructor) around the school field, or to display musical talents in a Battle of the Bands appeal?  Would you like the chance to have a clear out at home and come to a car boot and garden plant sale?  How about a second hand bike sale and free bike checks?  Or would you like an opportunity to peruse some local arts and crafts and see some community groups perform?
These are some of the ideas currently being discussed and we would be happy to have more.  Students are being asked to feedback into the School Council and parents and carers are kindly asked to give this some thought and give their comments and any other ideas to CNSA as soon as possible.  Please contact Alison Coyle at alisoncoyle@btinternet.com or call her on 01603 250135 before Friday 11 May.
Thanks to all those who have shown an interest in getting the school association, CNSA, up and running again.  Please mark the afternoon of Sunday 24 June in your diary as an opportunity to bring your family and friends into CNS for some summer fun!

Message from Mr Nixon

There is a quote that states “if you do what you’ve always done, you’ll get what you’ve always got.”

Some people assume that the quote means that you always have to change things but that’s not how I read it. I read it as meaning that if you continue doing something the same way, then the outcome will remain the same.  Sometimes that is a good thing – not everything we do has to change or improve but it might be that we have to evaluate the ways we do things to see if those ways  still  work.. This kind of evaluation can apply in lots of different areas; to  students in regard to how well they are revising, to parents when dealing with an issue, to teachers when planning lessons or to a Headteacher, when deciding whole school strategies.

Crucially, it is about evaluating the impact quickly, otherwise time is wasted and progress is lost.
